It’s a dark day at Steelwerks. All our kinky friends are gone and there is nobody here to play with us.
Sadness.
This very temporary dark spot feels like the day after Christmas because we are coming off of what was an amazing weekend in Montreal and life has returned to normal. But, before we get too involved in making new things that lock here and attach there all while shining like a brand new creature chastity cage, let me tell you about the weekend which included bondage, latex, and, of course, chastity.

It was an odd mix of circumstance and planning, but last weekend Steelwerks’ played host to a group of old and new friends and the dynamic was fucking amazing.

It started with a plan for seriousbondage.com to come here and do a shoot in our shop and at the warehouse and studio for Polymorphe latex, which is also here in Montreal. This shoot featured a new range of female chastity devices from Steelwerks as well as some amazing new products from Polymorphe. Our friends Bri (@kinkylilpetgirl), a fetish photographer/videographer and editor for seriousbondage.com, and Elise Graves (@EliseGraves), a kinky little bondage and pain expert, arrived on Friday to do the shoot over the weekend. This plan also included an addition to these two amazing women, our friend Troy Orleans (@troyorleans), a professional dominatrix who is as beautiful as she is wicked, and another friend, Pup (@seattleboatdog), a rubber fanatic who left his West Coast kennel and flew up to join us just in case we had any spare bondage to go around. That was the plan and that alone would have been amazing, but then Drew (@dualdrew) was working close by and was coming to see the SW family for a day before he flew home which was then also followed by a new friend, Aussie, who, get this, flew from the other side of the world to come meet us and be measured for his cage. This was quite the eclectic bunch and tensions were high about whether it would work, but fuck did it ever.

The weekend started on Friday night when the guests all arrived for a group dinner individually, yet oddly within minutes of each other. We were thrilled to welcome everyone and watched intently as the conversations ebbed and flowed between a special mix of vanilla, kink, Netflix, and gossip. It was fascinating to watch these highly specialized professionals converse as we watched them all let their guards down and have an open and honest group conversation about the things that turn them on and off made even better because we were in a very non kink setting where everyone had to do this through the use of code words and symbolism – I am thinking of starting a new party game based on this. The dynamic rocked and new friends were absolutely made that night before they soon scattered to various hotels around downtown.

On Saturday afternoon, shooting began at the Polymorphe Studios and while Bri and I filmed some segments with Elise, who was bound in a limited edition Polymorphe latex straightjacket while modeling our latest vaginal clamps, the others milled around and did some shopping and modeling of their own while staying out of the camera view. Aside from the filming, a few of my favorite moments occurred while watching Troy carefully inspect each and every piece of latex clothing and gear with a look in her eye that just told you that the boy she was planning for each piece was going to experience something incredibly restricting and painful. On top of this, Drew opened the wrong door and got to see our clamps in action, which, according to his blog, was a first for him on many levels. The look on his face was priceless and one I hope to see again.

After this, the group was once again assembled and I stood back, looked and listened and, since this did not have to be a censored talk, the dynamic was even better. Bri and Elise can bring out the best in whoever they are around and helped the others try on various pieces of gear, including Pup who had a vision of gimpdom in his eyes, while Troy, Aussie and Drew engaged each other on a kinky intellectual level I have not seen in a long while. It was amazing to be a part of this and to know that my art, made vis Steelwerks, is what brought this group together.

At this point it was getting late and we split with Drew and Aussie going to dinner, Pup furiously ordering new gear in his size, and the ladies and I going back to the Steelwerks’ shop to do some intense close up shoots of the clamps and a few other items that evening and most of the day on Sunday. It was an amazing time but, like most of those, time ran out and Monday quickly approached ushering in our first snow of the season, which sent the Californians running back west for cover. I wrote this to thank all of them and to provide our clients (and potential clients) a look inside what was actually a rare weekend for the Steelwerks family, but a beautiful one on so many levels.
